"Experience is the best teacher,” say some sages. “Writings are not perfect,” says the Ancient Chinese book. “Those who have studied good books may still be fools,” says a 12th-century pandit Narayana in his book Hitopadesha. Some philosophers, however, defend writings & books with their sayings, for example, the Ancient Roman proverb, "Optimus magister bonus liber," & the travel theorem of Herbert Alexander Simon (1916-2001), US political scientist, economist, sociologist, & psychologist. Both experience & reading of books might be beneficial, but we should always remember his theorem, before we plan to travel abroad:
