The Past No One Can Change

No one can change the past. After the assassination, Macbeth is frightened that  he hears a voice cry, “Macbeth does murder sleep.” (Act 2 Scene 2) He deeply regrets that he has committed the treason. Fear rules him completely:

Will all great Neptune’s ocean wash this blood

Clean from my hand? No, this my hand will rather

The multitudinous seas incarnadine,

Making the green one red.
