Sake, or alcoholic beverage, is considered not only the best medicine but also the worst poison in the Japanese wisdom (酒は百薬の長 / 酒は百毒の長). Henry Fielding (1707-1754), English writer, thought of wine in a slightly different way. Time changes wine after you drink it:
Wine is a turncoat; first a friend and then an enemy.
