時に自尊心や優越感を示す嘲りや侮蔑。

「ざまあみろ」

「やっつけてやる」
といったことを意味する口語的表現。

　　彼女の電話番号をゲットした。どんなもんだい。

いくらかヴァリエーションがあるが、
　(them より those の方が一般的か?)
語源は、第一次大戦中、対戦車用の手榴弾を
タフィーアップルと呼んでいたことに因む。

手榴弾の形がりんごに飴をかけたお菓子の
タフィーアップルに似ていたからである。
