Nothing Serious in Mortality

Why are we alive? What is life? The Bible says: “All is vanity” (Ecclesiastes 1:2). Macbeth, the assassin of Shakespeare, states about the vanity of life with his own words (Act 2 Scene 3). Consider which is said about Duncan’s life or Macbeth’s own life.

There's nothing serious in mortality:
All is but toys: renown and grace is dead;
The wine of life is drawn, and the mere lees
Is left this vault to brag of.
