Top pages of newspapers often tell us severe crimes, serious accidents, terror attacks, wars, & such sad news. Why should we read bad news at first just after getting up in the morning? Earl Warren (1891-1974), American jurist & politician, once said that he started to run his eye over good news:
I always turn to the sports section first. The sports page records people's accomplishments; the front page has nothing but man's failures.
