Hello, 2017!
Ikkyū (1394–1481), a Japanese Zen monk & mystic, left his unique philosophy to us as the form of poetry called KYOUKA. This is one of his lines that tells us the meaning of the New Year:
The New Year’s Day comes once a year
Which is the milestone of your journey.
(Your life is a journey to Heaven.)
When you have come to the new milestone,
When you have come to the new milestone,
Celebrate it & think seriously about the rest of your life!
May 2017 be the best year of your life!
