Lady Macbeth is indeed a bad wife to encourage her husband when he flinches from murdering Duncan (Act1 Scene7), & she has been already “bloody, bold, and resolute” rather than her indecisive husband. Macbeth is not a little surprised by listening to her strong will & assassination plot:

We fail!
But screw your courage to the sticking-place,
And we'll not fail. When Duncan is asleep ---
Whereto the rather shall his day's hard journey
Soundly invite him --- his two chamberlains
Will I with wine and wassail so convince
That memory, the warder of the brain,
Shall be a fume, and the receipt of reason
A limbeck only: when in swinish sleep
Their drenched natures lie as in a death,
What cannot you and I perform upon
The unguarded Duncan? what not put upon
His spongy officers, who shall bear the guilt
Of our great quell?

マクベス夫人はもちろん、夫がダンカンの殺害に尻込みしているときに鼓舞する悪妻であり、煮えきらない夫よりも「血なまぐさく、堂々として、断固決心している」。マクベスは妻の強い意志と暗殺計画を聞いて少なからず驚かされる。

一日のつらい旅が深い眠りへと、
すっかりと招くはず ----- 二人の付き添いは

記憶力は煙となり、理性の受容体は蒸留器に
すぎなくなるのです。豚のように眠り、
二人は酒びたしで正気をなくし死んだように
寝転んでしまうので、無防備になったダンカンに
あなたとわたしができないことなどなくなるのです。
スポンジ役人どもにわたし達の謀殺の大罪を
なすりつけるのも訳ないことです。
