Nothing so needs reforming as other people’s habits.
February
Behold the fool saith, “Put not all thine eggs in the one basket,” which is but a manner of saying, “scatter your money and your attention,” but the wise man saith, put all thine eggs in the one basket and - watch the basket.
March
When angry, count a hundred. When very angry. swear.
April
April 1st: This is the day upon which we are reminded of what we are on the other three hundred and sixty-four.
May
It were not best we should all think alike. It is difference of opinion that makes horse-races.
June
When I reflect upon the number of disagreeable people who I know have gone to a better world, I’m moved to lead a different life.
July
July 4th: Statistics show that we lose more fools on this day than that in all the other days of the year put together. This proves, by the number left in stock, that one Fourth of July per year is now inadequate, the country has grown so.
August
Why is it that we rejoice at a birth and grieve at a funeral? Is it because we are not person involved?

If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosperous, he will not bite you. This is the pricipal difference between a dog and a man.

October: This is one of peculiarly dangerous months to speculate in stocks. The others are July, January, September, Aril, November, May, March, June, December, August and February.

Few things are harder to put up with than the annoyance of a good example.

Even the clearest and most perfect circumstantial evidence is likely to be at fault, after all, and therefore caught to be received to be great caution. - Take the care of any pencil sharpened by any woman; if you have witnesses you will find she did it with a knife: but if you take simply the aspect of the pencil, you will say she did it with her teeth.

怒りを感じたら、百まで数えよ。激怒したら、ののしれ。
四月
四月一日 - 自分が他の三百六十四日ではどんなものか思い出す日である。
五月
我々がみんな同じように考えれば良いというわけではなかろう。競馬が成り立つのは意見の相違の為である。
六月
知り合いの多くの気に食わない人々が他界したことについて熟考してみると、今までとはちがった生活にいざなわれるものである。
七月
七月四日 - 他の全ての日の合計に増して、我々はこの日一日でより多くの愚者を失う、と統計は示している。これが証明しているのは、全体にのこっいる数字によって、年に一回の七月四日では不十分なのだが、この国はかくのごとく成長してきた、ということである。
八月
どうして我々は誕生に喜び、葬式に哀しむのでしょう? 当事者ではないからでしょうか?
九月
腹をすかせた犬を拾って元気はつらつにしてやれば、その犬は飼い主をかまなくなる。これが犬と人間との主要な相違点である。
十月
十月 - 株の投機を行うのに特に危険な月の一つ。ほかに危険な月は七月、一月、九月、四月、十一月、五月、三月、六月、十二月、八月、そして、二月である。
十一月
模範に対するいらだちより身につけるのが難しいものはあまりない。
十二月
明白で完璧な状況証拠でさえ、誤ちであることが起こりえるので、結局、それ故に細心の注意をもって受け入れなければならない。ある女性が削った鉛筆に注意してみよう。あなたが目撃していれば、その女性がナイフで削ったことはわかるだろう。しかし鉛筆の削られた断面ばかりを汲み取るなら、その女性は歯で削ったのだ、とあなたは言うだろう。
