Health First

Health is the most important thing in life. Enemies for all creatures, including human beings, are incurable diseases & serious lifelong disabilities, which deprive us of our normal physical abilities. Henri Frederic Amiel (1821-1881), Swiss philosopher & poet, expresses his point of view about the relationship between health & freedom in a following maxim:

In health there is freedom. Health is the first of all liberties.

健康は生命にとって一番大切なものである。人間を含めたすべての生き物にとって有害なものは、通常の肉体の能力を奪い去る、不治の病や生涯を通じてつきあわなくてはならない深刻な障碍である。スイスの哲学者で詩人のアンリ・フレデリック・アミエルは、健康と自由の関係を示す見解を以下のような金言で表している。
