One Philosophy Has Many Interpretations

St. Augustine of Hippo (354-430) converted to Christianity at age 32 & became a vigorous believer. He made his own philosophy that the Christian was not free from the Gospel. This ALL-OR-NOTHING thought has been ruling the major sects of Christianity in the Occidental world over 15 centuries long:
If you believe what you like in the Gospel, and reject what you don't like, it is not the Gospel you believe, but yourself.
福音書の気に入ったところを信じて、気に入らないところを斥けるとするなら、あなたが信じるのは福音書ではなく、あなた自身である。
