Paracelsus

　パラケルススはスイスの錬金術師・医師のホーヘンハイムが自らに付けた名。一世紀のギリシャの医者・著述家「ケルソス (Celsus) を越える (para-)」を暗示している。パラケルススによれば、人体は四大元素によって構成されているが故に、物質の研究・錬金術は医術に応用できる。
